Preschool Developmental Guide-List
This guide is offered as a free resource to subscribers of the Not Just Cute Newsletter. If you haven’t yet subscribed, you can do that here.
Please note: The developmental guide does list reading as a skill, but largely as a bookend to show that the skills preceding it do lead to fluent reading, NOT as an assertion that all preschoolers should be able to read. Always remember that the typical developmental window for reading is ages 4-7 and that the differentiation in timing a pacing is normal. This is a pattern you’ll find with many of the skills listed. Development is often gradual. It’s progress that you’re looking for, not speed.
