Episode 17: Bounceback Parenting with Alissa Marquess

Alissa Marquess is adamant that she is not a parenting expert. She’s a mom who makes a lot of mistakes like we all do – but she’s learned something along the way that has helped her step back from the emphasis on perfection in today’s parenting culture and focus on learning, growing, and connecting in the process.  Even in the messy parts.

She’s sharing her insight a new book to be released on April 24, 2018 called, Bounceback Parenting: A Field Guide for Creating Connection Not Perfection.

I love the powerful shifts in thinking that Alissa shares in her book and in our discussion today.  Even in seemingly simple ways, they can create an incredible amount of positive momentum for parents and for their families.

I’m Amanda Morgan. Here’s what I’m about…

In early education, there is too much distance between what we know and what we do. I bridge the gaps that exist between academia, decision-makers, educators, and parents so that together, we can improve the quality of early education while also respecting and protecting the childhood experience.
