Quick Thought: Play to Learn

February 26, 2014 by notjustcute Filed Under: Learning through Play and Experience 2 Comments

Just a quick thought for today:

Play to Learn

Play is powerful.  It’s the process of authentic learning in action.  Children play with new ideas, with social rules, and with just about any random item they can get their hands on.  It’s an on-going process of questioning, exploring, and experimenting.

Play is a science.

What powerful play have you observed?

I love your quote! I write books about play, so I love when you talk about play on your blog! It’s such an important activity and practice for children, teens and even adults! 🙂

Some parents seem to forget how turning kids over to their imaginations in the backyard is the best kind of learning you can provide them! Get them away from all those screens in your house!

I’m Amanda Morgan. Here’s what I’m about…

In early education, there is too much distance between what we know and what we do. I bridge the gaps that exist between academia, decision-makers, educators, and parents so that together, we can improve the quality of early education while also respecting and protecting the childhood experience.
