In 2016 I set a goal to launch a podcast in the early part of 2017. Hopefully, the tail end of March still counts as early in the year, because I have finally been able to launch the first (very imperfect) episodes of Not Just Cute, the Podcast. The learning curve is steep when it comes to making podcasts. There is so much going on behind the scenes between inception to streaming that I never realized. But I’ve been lucky to have some wonderful experts to glean from, and after a lot of trial and error, I think I just might be getting the hang of this.
And I really enjoy it.
I’m sure that in a few months I’ll look back and realize how rough these first few episodes are. But my mantra is that done is better than perfect, so after recording and re-recording, editing and re-editing, today I’m launching Not Just Cute, the Podcast!
I’m so excited to be able to bring to you, conversations with some of the inspiring voices in the niche of child development, and to make them accessible and easy to follow on the go. Not Just Cute, the Podcast will bring you these fascinating conversations along with Second Reads (think of it as the audio version of past popular blog posts), Q&As, and much more.
The first three episodes just landed here. You can also subscribe on iTunes so that you can catch each episode as they come. (I have several more that are almost ready to go!)
Episode 3 is also my introductory interview with Emily Plank, author of Discovering the Culture of Childhood, the Read Along book for Not Just Cute. If you’ve been reading Emily’s book, I’d love to have you jump into the discussion. You can submit questions and comments here (use “Read Along” in the subject field), and I’ll bring them up in our subsequent interviews. If her book is new to you, you can find more information, and follow along with the Read Along here.
I’m excited to have you with me in this new endeavor! I’d love to hear what you’d like to find in upcoming episodes of Not Just Cute, the Podcast. Let me know in the comments.
