As I laid out my plans to write about imaginative play this week, I thought it would be fun to give away some fantastic dress-up play items. So, I contacted Bella Luna Toys, an online shop specializing in natural toys that inspire imaginative play, and asked if they might be willing to offer up one of their beautiful silk dress up costumes from Sarah’s Silks as a giveaway as part of this series on fantasy play. They were more than generous in offering one winner their choice of either a silk Princess Dress or Knight Costume and another winner will receive two play silks for open-ended pretend play.
Winners are welcome from around the globe, but those outside of the US will be required to pay shipping costs.
So here’s how to enter:
To be eligible for the costume, leave a comment here and at Moon Child, the blog of Bella Luna Toys.
To be eligible for the play silks, become a friend of Sarah’s Silks and Bella Luna Toys on Facebook.
One winner for each giveaway will be chosen on Monday at random. One entry per person per giveaway.
Good Luck! And enjoy your weekend!

I would love to have one of the costumes for my classroom!
I’m so excited about this contest! We have decluttered almost all of our (cheap, plastic, noisy, annoying, etc) toys and are down to almost nothing. These costumes or silks would be a great way to start a dress up box!

Those dresses are beautiful – my girls would love them! I can see many days of parading around in it!
I have a son and daughter who are really close in age… they would LOVE these!!!
Would love to win! Fingers crossed!
I have 2 princesses (and another one arriving in less than two months) that would be crazy about this costume!
I have both a princess and a knight that could use a new wardrobe. We love playing with play silks. Sometimes the kids pretend that the scarf is a caterpillar that turns into a butterfly.
Love the princess dress-up, it would be perfect for my princess!
Already was a fan of Bella Luna Toys on facebook, but I also just “liked” Sarah’s silks too, so hopefully that means we are also entered into the play silks giveaway!
I love that knight costume. well the princess one too but my son is constantly being a knight – musketeer – I got those swim tube things and cut them into sword shapes so we could fence safely.
I became a friend of sarah’s silks, i was already of bella luna toys.
We would love any of these wonderful gifts! Thank you for the opportunity! 🙂
We would love the knight costume or playsilks! I tried making a knight costume for my son… but this one looks so much better lol!
Oh, I absolutely agree with you. My thesis was written on play therapy and someday I’d like to do some practical research in that field again. It seems like so many children are being over-scheduled these days and not having any time to just play.
My two boys would go bananas over the knight costume and a playsilk would make a great cape too!
Love the costumes! Would love any of them. I have knights and princesses parading around here regularly.
Add me in Mandy! My kids love to play dress up and pretend!
beautiful giveaway! thanks for the opportunity. glad to have found your blog! 🙂
Parker’s one costume just isn’t enough, we would love another to add to our humble collection! Thanks Mandy!
Thanks for these wonderful, inspirational posts of natural child development and the importance of play. I often share these with other moms in my family to give them insight into the way I parent and to perhaps give them alternatives to the mainstream ways of doing things.
Excited about the giveaway as well! Keep up the good posts and will continue to follow in the future!
My kids would love any and all of these give aways! We actually have the knight outfit, but after so much use, it could stand to be replaced.
What a perfect addition to our “make believe.” Pick me!
My girls and I would love this !! Thanks for the great giveaway.
my kids love sarah’s silks… this dress and knight costume are lovely… would love to add it to our dress up box! thank you for this giveaway…and thank you for your thoughtful words on children’s work (play:)
We love Sarah’s silks. My girls are in need of some new silks and dress up clothes. Thanks for the chance to win.
I know two little girls that would just love to have the princess costume or playsilks…the imagination is endless with both!
I would love the chance to win one of these prizes for my son who I’m homeschooling and my dayhome children.
I like both facebook pages and commented on the other blog as well!
Love these silks. Thanks.
I own a child care facility and also have a little one myself. We love both of the dress-up play outfits! And we would LOVE to win one of them!!
those silk dressups are beautiful. i have a 3.5yr old daughter who has just discovered the world of make believe and i love hearing her songs and stories of her imaginings. We’ve had a big purge of plastic/battery toys etc, in our change over to the steiner ways of playthings, it’s been such a positive change. we have no outdoor area for her to play in, so i feel stuck in that department, but inside, we’re doing all we can – to give her the freedom to use her imagination with the muslin squares i’ve dyed at a workshop. It would be so lovely to have silk playcloths or silk princess dressup costume. Silk feel so soft and lovely, like a summer breeze on your skin
Thanks for making it possible for us to surround ourselves with beauty.
I love your philosophy about playing and creativity!
Your giveaway prizes are delightful…
Many thanks, Cindi
