Weekend Reads

September 4, 2010 by notjustcute Filed Under: Learning through Play and Experience, Uncategorized, Weekend Reads Leave a Comment

I hope you’re enjoying your long weekend!  Here are few gems you might want to check out when you find the time to sit back and take in some great reads!

Another great post at Simple Kids: Helping Your Child Manage Risk, written by Aussie blogger Catherine Way of Adventures with Kids.  I love her take on teaching children how to approach risk rather than removing all risk from their experiences!

A new spin on an old favorite: Giant marble painting for a fun group art project at Pink and Green Mama.

With all the assessments and checklists that come with the start of a new school year, I loved this writer’s take on What a Four Year Old Should Know.

Here’s an interesting report on play becoming a lost art.  Makes you want to run outside for a game of tag with your little ones!

Don’t forget that Mandi Ehman at Organizing Your Way is launching Life…Your Way on Monday!  So hop on over there and see what all the excitement is about!

I’m Amanda Morgan. Here’s what I’m about…

In early education, there is too much distance between what we know and what we do. I bridge the gaps that exist between academia, decision-makers, educators, and parents so that together, we can improve the quality of early education while also respecting and protecting the childhood experience.
