Fourth of July flashback for you:
It’s graduation season. Odds are fair that, whether it was a preschool graduation or a elementary school promotion or the long and arduous university or high school ceremony, you’ve seen a bit of pomp and circumstance during this past month or so.
Father’s Day is Sunday. Are you ready? My boys and I picked up my husband’s present yesterday afternoon and before dinner they had each dropped enough hints that we finally decided to enjoy the gift giving portion of the holiday a little early!
Every birthday is monumental in a kid’s eyes. Even pretend ones! “Birthday Party” is one of my favorite dramatic play themes to set up, and the kids love it too! Melissa & Doug know a thing or two about kids, play, and birthdays, so they’re sponsoring this post as a part of their Ultimate Birthday Bash. (They’re also hosting an amazing giveaway, so be sure to check out those details at the end!)
Have you hopped on Pinterest lately? It’s a feast for the eyes and the imagination! You’ll instantly be reminded that it’s Christmastime when you see loads and loads of pins with an abundance of ideas — 42 New Traditions to Make Christmas Magical, 239 Ways to Position Your Christmas Elf, 96 Christmas Songs to Download Now, and 63 New Cookie Recipes You Can’t Live Without. With Thanksgiving upon us here in America, it’s customary to take some extra time to ponder on the things we’re grateful for. I am blessed with so many things. Among those are the blessings that have come from this blog — and for that, I want to thank you, the readers of Not Just Cute.
Also on the minds of those preparing for Thanksgiving Day is how to keep all the little ones at your gathering happily busy in all the right ways. I’ve gathered up a sampling of great activities (with tons of fine motor practice and creativity opportunities) so you can gather the kiddos around and build great memories together.
‘Tis the season of the Great Pumpkin!
If you haven’t already surmised from my paucity of posts, things have been a little busy around here. First we were adjusting to the new normal with our newest bouncing bundle of boy, then the adjustment of back to school routines, add on my online course and other teaching engagements, as well as a litany of tiny to-dos that continue to carry over week to week. It’s been a little overwhelming.
I find that when I begin to feel overwhelmed, the best thing I can do is to scale back and take a deep breath. I’m planning to get back into the rhythm next week with my regular posting schedule, but in the meantime, I have some good friends who have been sharing some of my work in some wonderful compilations they’ve put together.
I’ve mentioned before, and I’ll mention many times again: I love fall! The sight, the sound, the smell, and yes, the taste!
